The St-Jude CHSLD is looking for an Occupational Therapist Salary : $31.48 to $57.75 per hour (depending on experience) Hourly : Permanent position Full time 35 hours/week Day shift Workplace: CHSLD St-Jude – Laval, Quebec On-site position Conditions based on the scales and benefits of the Quebec health network. CHSLD St-Jude is seeking a passionate Occupational Therapist to join its clinical team. This opportunity will allow you to directly contribute to maintaining the autonomy, safety, and quality of life of our residents in a warm, caring, and supportive environment. Under the authority of the nursing management, the occupational therapist assesses the functional and cognitive abilities of residents, identifies their needs and implements personalized interventions promoting their autonomy, their participation in daily activities and their well-being. The person holding the position collaborates closely with the interdisciplinary team, families and various stakeholders to ensure a resident-centered approach adapted to their condition. RESPONSIBILITIES: Assess the functional, physical and cognitive abilities of residents in order to determine their needs and intervention objectives; Develop and monitor personalized intervention plans aimed at maintaining or improving autonomy; Design and supervise functional rehabilitation programs and occupational activities adapted to the abilities of residents; Recommend technical aids, specialized equipment, orthotics and environmental adaptations that promote safety and independence; Conduct assessments upon admissions, returns from hospitalization, and during changes in residents' conditions; Participate in the assessment of the risks of falls, loss of autonomy, injuries and propose appropriate preventive measures; Collaborating with the care team to optimize positioning, intervention strategies and the quality of care provided; Advise and train residents, families and staff regarding the use of equipment, positioning and safety measures; Participate in interdisciplinary intervention plans (IIPs) as well as meetings with families or representatives of residents; Ensure complete, accurate clinical documentation that complies with professional standards; To contribute to the continuous improvement of practices and the quality of life of residents. REQUIREMENTS: Hold a bachelor's or master's degree in occupational therapy; Be a member in good standing of the Quebec Order of Occupational Therapists; Having experience with elderly clients or in long-term care settings (an asset); Experience in long-term care facilities or living environments (an asset); Demonstrate rigor, autonomy and excellent organizational skills; Demonstrate good listening, communication and collaboration skills; Demonstrate professionalism, discretion and respect the confidentiality of files; Possessing a strong sense of professional ethics and an approach focused on kindness and respect.
