CARLA, a new neighborhood bar and restaurant in Adams Morgan, is looking for experienced Line Cooks to join our opening kitchen team.

CARLA is a new neighborhood bar and gathering place in Adams Morgan centered around great drinks, shareable food, music, and genuine hospitality. Our menu is globally inspired (think skewers, bao, etc.), approachable, and made for a lively bar. The menu is small, but thoughtful and delicious.

We’re looking for cooks who are dependable, organized, work well with a team.

Ideal candidates have at least one year of professional kitchen or full-service restaurant experience.

Responsibilities include:

• Preparing and executing menu items consistently and efficiently
• Daily station prep and mise en place
• Proper station setup and breakdown
• Strong knife skills and attention to detail
• Stocking, organization, and inventory of your station
• Proper handling and storage of seafood and other ingredients
• Maintaining a clean, organized workspace throughout service
• Following all sanitation, food safety, and health department standards
• Developing strong knowledge of menu ingredients and preparation
• Working efficiently and communicating well during busy services

Physical & Certification Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and perform repetitive bending, stooping, twisting, and lifting
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DC Food Protection Manager certification
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

• $78,000–$83,000 annual salary, based on experience
