About the Role
We’re hiring an Assistant Restaurant Manager for Gold Cap Hospitality in Iowa City, IA. This is a great fit for an experienced restaurant professional who can lead shifts, support a team and keep service running smoothly in a busy environment.
What You’ll Do
- Lead opening, closing and service shifts
- Welcome guests and ensure a positive dining experience
- Assign positions and adjust staffing during service
- Coach and direct restaurant employees
- Maintain food, beverage, cleanliness and service standards
- Handle guest concerns professionally
- Complete cash-handling and shift reports accurately
- Communicate important updates to restaurant leadership
- Step in wherever the team needs support
What We’re Looking For
- Previous restaurant experience required (1–2 years of experience preferred)
- Management or shift-lead experience is a plus
- Experienced servers, bartenders or hosts ready to take on more responsibility are encouraged to apply
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to stay calm and make decisions during busy shifts
- Evening, weekend and holiday availability required
