POSITION:   Supplemental Mathematics Tutor     

STARTING DATE:    As Soon as Possible

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Supplemental Mathematics Tutor will provide targeted mathematics intervention to

students identified as needing additional academic support. The tutor will use student data to

provide individualized and small-group instruction focused on closing skill gaps and improving

mathematics proficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS:

? Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required.

? Associate degree or higher preferred.

? Must hold required Ohio Department of Education and Workforce permit(s) or be

eligible to obtain.

? Must meet Title I paraprofessional requirements.

? Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in secondary mathematics content, including

Algebra and Geometry.

? Experience working with or tutoring secondary students preferred.

? Knowledge of Ohio's Learning Standards for Mathematics and effective mathematics

instructional practices.

? Experience providing small-group or individualized mathematics instruction preferred.

? Ability to use student data to identify skill gaps and instructional needs.

? Willingness/ability to work as a team member.

? Good organizational skills.

? History of good job attendance.

? Demonstrate computer usage skills (with emphasis on database management)

? Demonstrate excellent written and verbal skills

? Good public relation skills

? Outstanding organizational and time management skills

? Capable of working with minimal supervision

? Must pass criminal background checks, be free from communicable disease

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Salary and work year as established by the Governing Board.  The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non - prescribed controlled substance use in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District.

Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Personnel.
