Job description

Description:                                Instructional Aide - Special Education / Social Communication Classroom, .875 FTE
Job Summary:                             The IA - Special Education / SCC provides individualized academic, behavioral, and personal care support to students with specialized needs in a variety of learning environments.  


                                                      Working under the supervision of a licensed educator, the aide facilitates student participation in instructional activities, promotes independence, and ensures safety and consistency 

                                                       throughout the school day.  This role is crucial for reinforcing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), medical plans, Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and for maintaining a 

                                                      supportive environment aligned with student learning goals.


Qualifications:                             High school diploma or equivalent required. 

                                                      Associate degree preferred. 

                                                     Current Educational Aide Permit from the Ohio Department of Education valid in Lakota Local Schools. 

                                                     Successful completion of applicable training (e.g., CPR/First Aid, Crisis Prevention as required). 

                                                     Prior classroom experience as an aide or paraprofessional preferred. 


Working Conditions:                  7 hours per day, 5 days per week and 184 days based on a school year calendar. 
                                                     Per current Lakota salary schedule, starting at $18.52 per hour plus $1.50 differential per hour based on verified experience.
