About Us

Burnt Hill Farm is focused on seasonal, ingredient-driven cooking. We grow, raise, and produce with intention — creating food and wine that reflect our land and community. We also offer the Burnt Hill Chef’s Counter — an intimate 12-seat experience in our working kitchen, featuring an ever-evolving seven to nine course Asian American tasting menu shaped by the seasons and the farm. Seated with a front-row view, guests experience Chef Tae Strain’s perspective through thoughtful, seasonal dishes that reflect the Chesapeake region and the people behind it.

The Role:

We’re hiring a line cook to join our kitchen team. This is a hands-on, part-time position for someone passionate about seasonal cooking and service. Must be available Friday–Sunday (8–12 hour shifts).

Responsibilities:

• Cook and prep food with consistency and care
• Maintain a clean, organized kitchen
• Rotate stations and assist with service when needed
• Collaborate with the FOH team for great guest experiences
• Follow food safety procedures and kitchen SOPs
• Pitch in with dishes, cleaning, restocking, and setup
• Participate in training and ongoing food + wine education

Qualifications:

• Experienced in kitchens (line cook, ovens, or FOH a plus)
• A clear communicator and team player with a sense of urgency
• Reliable, efficient, and receptive to feedback
• Serve Safe Food Handler’s License or ServSafe Certification strongly encouraged
• Wine and beverage knowledge is advantageous

Compensation:

• Starts at $20-$25 per hour depending on role and qualifications
