POSITION SUMMARY

The Marketing Coordinator – Communications Specialist is responsible for supporting and integrating brand communications across its portfolio of six premium outdoor furnishings brands. This role is responsible for developing compelling content, managing organic social media and community engagement, supporting public relations initiatives, and ensuring a consistent, elevated brand voice across multiple communication channels.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Content Development & Copywriting

• Draft engaging content for email marketing campaigns, website pages, blogs, digital campaigns, sales collateral, and internal communications, in line with brand voice and content direction set by the Director of Communications.
• Develop SEO-friendly copy that supports brand visibility and digital performance.
• Maintain consistent and distinct brand voices across communication channels for all six Brown Jordan Inc. brands.
• Proofread and edit content to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand standards.

Organic Social Media & Community Management

• Manage organic social media calendars across all six Brown Jordan Inc. brands.
• Create, schedule, and publish engaging content across key social media platforms.
• Monitor comments, direct messages, mentions, and online conversations to foster positive community engagement.
• Coordinate influencer partnerships, user-generated content, and retailer/dealer social opportunities.
• Monitor social media performance and recommend content optimizations based on analytics and audience insights.
• Stay current on platform updates, industry trends, and emerging best practices.

Public Relations Support

• Serve as the day-to-day operational point of contact with external PR agency on deliverables, timelines, and materials, executing against the PR strategy and narrative set by the agency in partnership with the Director of Communications.
• Draft press releases, media alerts, award submissions, and press materials.
• Assist with press kits, product sample requests, media inquiries, and editorial opportunities.
• Monitor media coverage and maintain PR reporting.
• Support communications surrounding company news, partnerships, product launches, and industry events.

Communications Operations

• Maintain and update the day-to-day editorial calendar across all six brands, in alignment with priorities and content strategy set by the Director of Communications.
• Coordinate content review and approval workflows with cross-functional teams.
• Organize digital assets and communication resources.
• Assist with communications reporting and performance metrics.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to accelerate content development, streamline workflows, and improve communications efficiency while maintaining quality and brand standards.
• Support ongoing process improvements that increase team efficiency and content quality.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, English, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of professional experience in communications, public relations, content marketing, social media, or a related role.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.
• Experience writing for multiple communication channels, including digital, social media, email, and web.
• Experience managing organic social media platforms and content calendars.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Experience with project management platforms such as Asana, Monday.com, or similar collaboration tools.
• Familiarity with content management, CRM, and social media management platforms, such as HubSpot, Zoho, or similar tools.
• Experience with AI-powered content tools such as ChatGPT or Claude; familiarity with workflow automation tools such as Zapier is a plus.
• Understanding of SEO best practices and digital content optimization.
• Familiarity with basic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express) for social content creation is a plus.
• Strong editorial mindset with the ability to adapt writing style for different audiences, brands, and channels.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Highly collaborative with the ability to work cross-functionally.
• Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
