Behavioral Health Technician I

Location: Kirksville, MO Employment Type: Full-time & Part-time shifts available Shift: Monday – Friday

Job Summary:

Are you a compassionate and detail-oriented professional looking to make a meaningful impact in behavioral health care? Join our team at Centerstone as a Behavioral Health Technician I!

In this role, you'll provide direct and supportive care to clients/patients in residential and withdrawal management settings. You'll help monitor health indicators, facilitate structured activities, respond to crises, and support medication administration—all while fostering a safe, therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide general oversight and support to clients/patients in daily activities.
  • Monitor vital signs and respond to health emergencies, escalating situations as necessary.
  • Document and maintain accurate records for medications, behaviors, and treatment progress.
  • Facilitate client/patient transport as needed and adhere to medication policies.
  • Educate and encourage clients to participate in program expectations in a trauma-informed manner.
  • Collaborate actively with the treatment team to identify client strengths and needs.
  • Assist with admission, orientation processes, and report any behavior concerns promptly.
  • Conduct drug testing and maintain communication with the treatment team.
  • Prepare and facilitate group rehabilitative support and education as scheduled.
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment while following organization policies and procedures.

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of two (2) years of responsible employment

Additional Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of confidentiality laws in behavioral health
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interpret safety and procedural documents
  • Basic math and keyboarding skills
  • Ability to navigate electronic medical records
  • Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and rapport with clients
