Position Overview

Brightline Psychotherapy Services is actively seeking a dedicated and accomplished Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our growing team. This full-time role offers the unique opportunity to work remotely while providing essential mental health services within the school setting in Olathe, Kansas. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will play a pivotal role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating a diverse range of mental health concerns, contributing towards the emotional well-being and academic success of students.

Work Environment

This position is designed for those who prefer the flexibility and efficiency of a remote work environment, which is especially beneficial in today’s dynamic climate. While you will operate from your home office, your primary focus will center around student clients supported through schools in the Olathe region. Our digital infrastructure enables seamless communication and collaboration with educational staff, health providers, and fellow counselors, ensuring that you can deliver effective care despite geographic distances.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of clients’ mental health status through individual consultations, using standardized diagnostic tools and open dialogue.
• Design personalized treatment plans that address the unique challenges faced by students, with a focus on their educational and developmental needs.
• Provide regular one-on-one therapy sessions and group therapy, employing evidence-based practices to foster recovery and emotional stability.
• Assist students in developing coping strategies and life skills, enhancing their resilience in facing mental health challenges.
• Collaborate with teachers and school administrators to create a supportive framework around the clients’ needs, offering referrals to psychiatrists or additional resources when required.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client progress utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and company protocols.
• Actively participate in team meetings to share insights and strategies, contributing to the collective knowledge and effectiveness of the practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily serve a youthful client base, including children and adolescents facing a spectrum of mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and behavioral issues. You will be responsible for fostering an inclusive and culturally responsive therapeutic environment, addressing the specific needs of students from diverse backgrounds and circumstances.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid state licensure as an LCMFT, LCPC, LCP, LCSW, or LSCSW in Kansas.
• Minimum of four years of relevant clinical experience in mental health care settings, preferably with a focus on youth.
• Proficient knowledge of mental health disorders and a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities.
• Strong understanding of cultural competence and sensitivity in therapy, ensuring that treatment approaches are individualized and inclusive.

Preferred Experience

• Extensive experience in delivering both individual and group therapy with a focus on diverse cultural backgrounds.
• A demonstrated capacity for crisis intervention, especially in school settings where students may face unique pressures.
• Familiarity with collaborative care models, integrating the roles of educators, parents, and healthcare providers in the treatment process.
• Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems for client documentation and treatment planning.

Compensation and Benefits
