Job description

Position Overview

Are you driven by a passion for improving the lives of individuals facing mental health challenges? Bridge Over Troubled Waters Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team. This full-time role offers a unique opportunity to provide essential clinical services to clients aged 18 and older, helping them navigate their mental health challenges and fostering community stability and independence.

About the Organization

Bridge Over Troubled Waters Counseling Center is committed to delivering high-quality mental health treatment and social support to our clients. With a focus on person-centered care and a recovery-based approach, we strive to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve. Our outpatient office is located in Reading, Pennsylvania, but this position allows for remote work, providing flexibility and work-life balance.

Work Environment

In this remote role, you will collaborate with a team of caring professionals dedicated to mental health advocacy. You will have the resources and support needed to carry out your responsibilities effectively. Our environment encourages open communication, peer collaboration, and continuous learning, providing a nurturing atmosphere for both staff and clients.

Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Providing clinical services and developing personalized, recovery-focused treatment plans tailored to the specific needs of each client.
  • Conducting ongoing assessments to monitor clients' treatment requirements and adjusting care plans accordingly.
  • Assisting in the creation, monitoring, and execution of individual service plans that guide clients toward their goals.
  • Facilitating skill development sessions to enhance clients' coping mechanisms, problem-solving abilities, and communication skills.
  • Educating clients on available community services and acting as an advocate to help them access necessary resources.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our clients are primarily adults aged 18 and over who may struggle with various mental health conditions impacting their social, occupational, or personal stability. A thorough understanding of diverse mental health challenges ensures that you deliver empathetic and personalized care that respects each client’s unique journey. Your efforts will contribute significantly to improving their quality of life and enabling their successful reintegration into the community.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following:

  • A Master's degree or higher in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology.
  • A current license in good standing from the state board in one of the following disciplines: Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Psychologist (PsyD).
  • The ability to practice independently without supervision and a clean disciplinary record with no actions against your license.
  • Proficiency in using technology, including telehealth platforms and client management software.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate demeanor to foster trust with clients.
Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, prior experience in clinical mental health counseling—particularly in outpatient settings—will be advantageous. Familiarity with trauma-informed care and crisis intervention techniques is highly desirable, as well as experience working with diverse populations, including those with complex behavioral health histories.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers competitive compensation, with an annual salary ranging from USD 80,000 to 100,000, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to the attractive salary, we provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

  • A sign-on bonus for new hires.
  • Direct deposit on a weekly basis.
  • Full health, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
  • Minimal paperwork to maximize your time spent with clients.
  • Unlimited client referrals.
  • Opportunity to establish a full caseload within one week of onboarding.
Career Growth Opportunities

Bridge Over Troubled Waters Counseling Center values the professional development of our staff. We offer ongoing training, access to workshops, and opportunities to advance in your career within the organization. As a part of our commitment to your growth, you will have access to mentoring programs designed to enhance clinical skills and provide career advancement insight.

Why Join Our Team

Joining our team means becoming part of a mission-driven organization that values its team members and clients alike. We believe in a collaborative and supportive work culture where your insights and contributions are respected and encouraged.
