Position Overview

Brick-Wall MD is seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner for a full-time position in our primary care clinic located within a school in Jacksonville, Florida. As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality healthcare services to students and their families, focusing on both preventative and acute care. Your collaborative approach will be key in ensuring effective health management in an educational setting.

About the Organization

Brick-Wall MD is committed to providing comprehensive healthcare solutions, with a particular emphasis on the well-being of children and adolescents. Our mission is to enhance the health outcomes of our patients through accessible, compassionate, and coordinated care. We work closely with families, schools, and communities to ensure that every student has the support they need to thrive.

Work Environment

This position is based at a school in Jacksonville, Florida, a dynamic urban area known for its rich culture and community spirit. The work is performed onsite, allowing for direct interaction with students, school staff, and parents. You will function in a collaborative environment alongside physicians, educators, and other healthcare professionals to create a supportive healthcare ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

As a Nurse Practitioner at Brick-Wall MD, you will be responsible for a range of essential duties, including:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of students, focusing on health histories and physical examinations to identify healthcare needs.
  • Diagnosing and managing chronic illnesses and acute medical conditions, creating individualized care plans tailored to each patient.
  • Ordering, interpreting, and acting upon laboratory and diagnostic test results.
  • Prescribing medications and monitoring their effectiveness while ensuring patient adherence to treatment regimens.
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and optimize health outcomes.
  • Providing education to students and their families about managing chronic conditions and promoting healthy lifestyle changes.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with students, their families, and school staff to facilitate effective treatment delivery.
  • Engaging in community outreach initiatives to promote health awareness and prevention strategies.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily serve the student population within the school setting, addressing a variety of health concerns typical of children and adolescents. This includes managing chronic conditions such as asthma and diabetes, treating minor injuries, and addressing acute illnesses. Your approach will be to foster a supportive atmosphere that encourages students to actively participate in their health management.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree.
  • A valid Florida Nurse Practitioner license.
  • Board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP), or other relevant specialty.
  • An active and unrestricted DEA license with prescriptive authority.
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical skills to effectively assess and treat patients.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, fostering positive interactions with students and families.
Preferred Experience

While a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required, candidates with a background in outpatient or primary care settings will be given preference. Experience working with pediatric populations or in a school environment is highly desirable, as it demonstrates the ability to adapt to the unique challenges of the educational setting.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $120,000 to $150,000 per year, based on experience. Additional benefits include:

  • 401(k) Plan to assist with your long-term financial goals.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance packages to support your well-being.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays to ensure work-life balance.
  • Continuing education support with a $1,500 annual allowance for CME activities.
  • Flexible scheduling options designed to promote work-life harmony.
  • A robust mentorship program designed for career growth, offering guidance from a fellowship-trained therapist.
