About the Organization

Brave Recovery Counseling Services is dedicated to providing high-quality mental health care through evidence-based practices tailored to each client's unique needs. Our team is passionate about supporting individuals on their healing journey, focusing on a wide range of conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and substance abuse. We pride ourselves on creating a welcoming atmosphere for both clients and staff, emphasizing professional collaboration, continual learning, and respect for one another.

Work Environment

The role is designed for a telehealth setting, allowing our therapists to engage with clients from the comfort of their own homes or preferred environments. Our flexible work structure empowers therapists to tailor their schedules, accommodating both client needs and personal commitments effectively. Working at Brave Recovery Counseling Services means being part of a dynamic and innovative team that prioritizes mental health advocacy and client well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments to determine the needs of clients, followed by the development of customized treatment plans that promote positive outcomes.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy, to support individuals, couples, and families in their healing processes.
  • Facilitate psychoeducational and support groups aimed at fostering community connections and addressing shared mental health challenges.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals—including psychiatrists and psychologists—to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
  • Provide crisis intervention support during mental health emergencies, utilizing sound judgment to ensure client safety and well-being.
  • Deliver education to patients regarding mental health conditions, potential treatment modalities, and available resources in the community, empowering them to take active roles in their recovery.
  • Maintain accurate client records in conformity with legal and ethical standards, and ensure confidentiality at all times.
  • Participate in regular case consultations and team meetings to share insights and strategies for improving service delivery.
  • Stay informed about the latest developments in mental health research and therapies through continuous education and professional growth activities.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient population is diverse, comprising individuals from varying backgrounds and age groups who are struggling with an array of mental health issues. Therapists will engage with clients battling depression, anxiety, and other emotional disorders, alongside those facing substance use challenges. Each therapist's ability to connect empathetically with clients will be critical in building trust and paving the way for effective treatment.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.
  • Strong grasp of mental health disorders and familiarity with various evidence-based treatment modalities.
  • Demonstrated expertise in administering comprehensive assessments and constructing actionable treatment plans.
  • Proven experience in individual and group therapy across diverse populations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills coupled with strong communication abilities, enabling an engaging approach to therapy.
  • Ethical commitment to maintaining professional boundaries and patient confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and essential computer applications.
  • Ability to thrive within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience in a telehealth setting is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Specializations in specific therapeutic modalities or unique populations will be considered valuable assets.
  • A track record of implementing innovative therapeutic strategies targeted toward improving patient outcomes.
