Job Overview

We are seeking a dependable and motivated Wood Assembler to join our production team. This position is responsible for building custom wood crates and packaging solutions using blueprints, measuring tools, and construction-grade power tools. Success in this role requires attention to detail, safe work practices, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Shift assignment will be determined based on business needs and availability.

Responsibilities

Wood Crate Assembly

  • Build custom wood crates and skids according to blueprints and production specifications
  • Safely operate construction-grade power tools including nail guns, staple guns, drills, grinders, hammers, and tape measures
  • Use ladders when assembling crate tops and completing builds
  • Apply adhesives and install protective materials when required
  • Maintain quality standards while meeting production deadlines

Quality & Production

  • Measure and verify dimensions using a tape measure with accuracy up to 1/8 inch
  • Read and interpret cut sheets, drawings, and production instructions
  • Identify and report discrepancies in specifications or materials
  • Use production software to track and update job progress

Safety & Teamwork

  • Follow all workplace safety procedures and equipment guidelines
  • Report equipment issues and maintenance concerns promptly
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area by removing wood scraps and debris
  • Work collaboratively with team members to complete daily production goals
  • Contribute to a safe and efficient work environment

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 3+ months of experience in carpentry, construction, manufacturing, landscaping, assembly, or operating power tools preferred
  • Comfortable using hand and power tools
  • Basic computer skills for production tracking and job logging
  • Forklift and pallet jack experience is a plus
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is helpful but not required

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Frequently lift and move materials up to 40 lbs independently and heavier loads with assistance
  • Push and pull materials up to 75 lbs
  • Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and climb ladders as needed
  • Comfortable working in a production environment with moderate to high noise levels

  • Manufacturing and warehouse setting
  • Exposure to dust, noise, vibration, and moving equipment
  • Indoor environment with varying temperatures
  • Overtime and extended hours may be available based on production needs
