Job Description

We are looking for a strong hands-on Java Technical Lead / Architect who can take ownership of solutions from requirement gathering and technical design through hands-on development and delivery.

The ideal candidate must be a strong hands-on developer who is comfortable coding, designing solutions, leading developers, and interacting directly with clients and business stakeholders.

The candidate should have excellent communication and client-facing skills and be able to understand business requirements, translate them into technical solutions, drive architecture/design discussions, and work closely with the development team through implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Work directly with clients, business stakeholders, and product teams to understand and gather requirements.
• Translate business requirements into technical requirements, solution designs, and implementation plans.
• Lead technical architecture, application design, API design, and microservices design discussions.
• Remain highly hands-on with Java development and coding.
• Design and develop scalable applications using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices.
• Provide technical leadership and direction to development teams.
• Conduct code reviews and design reviews and ensure development best practices are followed.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide solutions for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Work with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, client meetings, technical discussions, and solution walkthroughs.
• Mentor developers while continuing to contribute directly to development.
• Take technical ownership from requirements → design → development → deployment.

Must-Have Skills

• 10+ years of Java development experience.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Core Java 8+.
• Strong experience with Spring Boot.
• Strong experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• Strong knowledge of Microservices Architecture.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Hands-on experience with MongoDB / NoSQL databases.
• Experience with Gradle, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and distributed systems.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and performance optimization skills.

Leadership & Client-Facing Skills – Critical

We are specifically looking for someone who has:

• Strong client interaction and communication skills.
• Experience conducting requirement-gathering sessions with clients and stakeholders.
• Ability to convert business requirements into technical architecture and design.
• Experience leading technical and solution design discussions.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring developers.
• Ability to independently drive technical decisions and take end-to-end ownership of delivery.
• Strong hands-on coding capability – this is not a purely managerial or architecture position.
