The Lead Preschool Teacher is responsible for delivering a high-quality, developmentally appropriate curriculum to young learners in a solo teaching environment. With a student-teacher ratio under 10:1, this role requires expertise in developmental programs, as well as conducting standardized assessments and maintaining detailed observational notes and portfolios. The teacher ensures a safe, engaging, and supportive classroom that fosters growth and positive behavior.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement curriculum aligned with state and developmental standards
• Manage classroom activities to promote student engagement and positive behavior
• Conduct child assessments using standardized tools and maintain observational notes and portfolios
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and classroom updates
• Develop lesson plans tailored to individual and group learning needs
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a safe learning environment
• Participate in professional development and collaborate with colleagues when applicable

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• CPR and First Aid Certification
• Food Handlers certification
• Stars Training completion

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in early childhood education
• Knowledge of Early Childhood Education and Child Development
• Skills in Classroom Management and Curriculum Design
• Experience with Behavioral Observation and Parent Communication
• Proficient in Conflict Resolution, Time Management, and demonstrating Patience
