The Lead Preschool Teacher is responsible for delivering a high-quality, developmentally appropriate curriculum to young learners in a solo teaching environment. With a student-teacher ratio under 10:1, this role requires expertise in developmental programs, as well as conducting standardized assessments and maintaining detailed observational notes and portfolios. The teacher ensures a safe, engaging, and supportive classroom that fosters growth and positive behavior.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement curriculum aligned with state and developmental standards
- Manage classroom activities to promote student engagement and positive behavior
- Conduct child assessments using standardized tools and maintain observational notes and portfolios
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and classroom updates
- Develop lesson plans tailored to individual and group learning needs
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a safe learning environment
- Participate in professional development and collaborate with colleagues when applicable
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- CPR and First Aid Certification
- Food Handlers certification
- Stars Training completion
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years experience in early childhood education
- Knowledge of Early Childhood Education and Child Development
