Position Overview:

We are seeking to hire a full time Assistant Manager who will have the responsibility for the daily operation of the store as well as fulfillment of custom and personalized orders. The ideal candidate has a unique blend of retail experience with a creative/crafty background. We’re looking for someone with strong knowledge and interest in weddings as well as someone who will provide exceptional service in all aspects of the sales floor - greeting customers, selling, product knowledge, styling, attending and leading events, content collection, and overall shopkeeping.

The position will be hourly, full time which will include nights and/or weekends depending on the needs of the business and weekly event happenings.


Role Responsibilities:


Customer Experience

  • Cultivates a welcoming and inclusive environment by being highly focused on delivering exceptional and genuine customer experiences that are engaging, efficient, and personalized
  • Empower and reinforce a service and selling culture within the team; cultivates customer relationships through connection
  • Drives a meaningful connection to the community by networking with local businesses and organizations to identify potential opportunities for community engagement and store events
  • Actively participates as the Customer Experience Manager by driving engagement in each zone through elevated communication; guides the team to prioritize the customer experience and achieve store objectives.


Leadership + Team Management

  • Promotes an inclusive environment by representing and amplifying all voices, actively seeking and advocating different perspectives
  • Develops a proactive talent strategy and interviews regularly
  • Engages the team to fuel internal growth; partners with other leaders to facilitate thoughtful onboarding for all new hires to drive a strong brand, customer and store connection
  • Prioritizes team growth by effectively scheduling time allocated for development and aids the team in managing their independent deadlines and milestones
  • Oversees organizational standards in back of house and exercises creative decision-making to impact organization and efficiency; facilitates the sharing of relevant information regarding shipment, restock, and back of house organization with the team
  • Demonstrates loss prevention awareness through assisting in cycle counts, markdowns, and transfers; actively supports the heavy workload prepping and executing yearly inventory
  • Supports daily operating processes such as opening and closing procedures, maintaining store standards, restocking product, and helping with facilities and/or customer issues
  • Assists in maintaining a visually compelling store that is well-loved by adhering to daily tasks; may oversee additional operational responsibilities with transfers, markdowns
  • Works with team to develop creative initiatives for workshops, in-store and offsite events, new product trends and unique seasonal features
  • Works with team on shipment receipt, processing, security tagging, and preparing product for floor/online placement
  • Works with event inquiries to book seamlessly. Handles all in-store and offsite event bookings from inquiry to final payment.
  • Trains, supervises and works with event teams to ensure quality and smooth event flow.


Visual + Business Operations

  • Oversees and collaborates with the leadership team to plan a strategic approach to daily, weekly, and monthly operating procedures; actively assesses sales forecasts, staff scheduling
  • Assesses store business using reporting tools to identify opportunities for the store; empowers team to make strategic, creative, and business-impacting decisions
  • Guides and supports the creative process to ensure timely and effective execution


Communication + Relationships

  • Leads with a people-first philosophy; protects time for employees at all levels to encourage open dialogue, reinforce follow through, and ensure that the store team is heard and supported
  • Fosters open communication and teamwork to ensure a collaborative environment; responds to all communication in a timely manner and ensures important company information reaches all levels of the team
  • Educates the team on scheduling expectations while maintaining team availability, requests off, and skill set to ensure scheduling equality and ideal staffing levels
  • Provides store and product insights related to the customer experience and communicates information to team


Role Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of retail leadership experience
  • Strong merchant skills and a history of delivering financial results
  • Proven record of developing great talent
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the store including nights, weekends, and holidays
