Role Summary:

Bodorlaser Inc. is seeking a bilingual (French/English) or trilingual (French/English/Mandarin) Customer Service Engineer based in Quebec, Canada. This role provides on-site and remote technical support, equipment installation, and after-sales service for Bodor's laser equipment across Quebec. The ideal candidate will serve as a key point of contact for customers, delivering timely installation, troubleshooting, maintenance support, and product guidance in a multilingual environment. This position requires strong technical aptitude, hands-on problem-solving skills, customer-facing communication abilities, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams across regions.


Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, providing technical support for laser equipment via phone, email, chat, and on-site visits.
  • Perform on-site installation, integration, and commissioning of laser machines, ensuring proper setup and optimal performance.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and operational issues, and take timely and effective action to resolve customer concerns.
  • Perform on-site maintenance and repairs, and assess when additional resources, tools, or replacement parts are required.
  • Interpret technical drawings, layouts, and blueprints to support equipment installation and system configuration.
  • Track and manage service requests and technical issues, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.
  • Proactively manage schedules and customer interactions within assigned territory to ensure optimal equipment utilization and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain and manage spare parts inventory, including forecasting needs and coordinating with customers, internal teams, vendors, and manufacturers.
  • Identify and report safety concerns related to equipment operation and service activities.
  • Deliver customer training on machine operation, maintenance, and best practices.
  • Prepare and submit accurate service reports, documentation, and expense reports in a timely manner.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and failure mode analysis, and provide recommendations for system improvements or upgrades.
  • Assist with equipment handling and movement, including loading and unloading when required.
  • Travel regularly within the assigned territory to support customer needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Bodorlaser Inc. est a la recherche d'un(e) ingenieur(e) de service sur le terrain bilingue (francais/mandarin) ou trilingue (francais/mandarin/anglais) base(e) au Quebec.

Ce poste comprend le soutien technique sur site et a distance, l'installation des equipements ainsi que le service apres-vente pour les machines laser Bodor. Le ou la titulaire du poste sera un point de contact cle pour les clients et devra assurer l'installation, le depannage, l'entretien et la formation dans un environnement multilingue.

Responsabilites

  • Agir comme principal point de contact pour les clients
  • Fournir un soutien technique par telephone, courriel, outils en ligne et interventions sur site
  • Effectuer l'installation, l'integration et la mise en service des machines laser
  • Diagnostiquer et resoudre les problemes mecaniques,  electriques et operationnels
  • Realiser l'entretien et les reparations sur site
  • Interpreter les plans techniques, schemas electriques et dessins mecaniques
  • Gerer les demandes de service et assurer le suivi des dossiers
  • Planifier et organiser les interventions dans le territoire assigne
  • Maintenir l'inventaire des pieces de rechange et coordonner avec les equipes internes et fournisseurs
  • Identifier et signaler les risques lies a la securite
  • Former les clients a l'utilisation et a l'entretien des equipements
  • Rediger des rapports de service et des rapports de depenses
  • Effectuer des analyses de defaillance et recommander des ameliorations
  • Assister a la manutention et au deplacement des equipements (chargement/dechargement)
  • Se deplacer regulierement dans le territoire assigne
  • Effectuer toute autre tache connexe

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Hands-on experience in installing, maintaining, or troubleshooting industrial equipment (e.g., CNC machines, laser systems, or similar automation equipment).
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues in a field service environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency in French and Mandarin.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently within assigned territories to support on-site installations and service needs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a customer-facing role.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to lift up to 50 lbs as part of job duties.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • 3+ years of experience with CNC machines, fiber laser equipment, or similar automated industrial systems.
  • Experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Trilingual in French, Mandarin, and English.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, customer-focused, and cross-cultural environment.
  • Previous experience supporting customers across multiple locations or regions.

Location:

This role is based in Quebec, Canada. Employees may work remotely within the province; however, frequent travel to customer sites within the assigned territory is required. Occasional international travel may also be necessary.

Lieu

Ce poste est base au Quebec. Le teletravail dans la province est possible, mais des deplacements frequents chez les clients sont requis. Des deplacements internationaux occasionnels peuvent egalement etre necessaires.
