Position SummaryThe Solutions Engineer (SE) is a member of the Business Development Team who is responsible for clearly communicating the various products and technologies currently offered within the Bluebird Fiber product portfolio during pre and post-sales customer interactions; also responsible for post-sales customer follow-up interactions to ensure products and/or solutions work as communicated. The SE will also provide technical assistance on day-to-day solutions design and Request for Pricing (RFP) response assistance to the Bluebird Carrier Sales Teams. The SE will collaborate with Sales, Network Engineering, and Architecture teams to design, present, and implement solutions that meet customer requirements for scalability, reliability, and performance.
This position requires the ability to Develop high-level and detailed network designs for fiber-based solutions, including Ethernet, IP, MPLS, DWDM, and Dark Fiber connectivity. Ensure designs align with hyperscaler standards and customer compliance requirements. This position requires strong customer focus, strong organizational, project and matrix management skills and the ability to complete tasks in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
RequirementsQualifications & Competencies:- 5+ years of experience in fiber network design and engineering.
- Hyperscaler connectivity experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols (Ethernet, IP, MPLS, BGP) and optical technologies (DWDM). Strong oral and written communications.
- Excellent communication skills for customer-facing interactions and technical presentations.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment; occasional overnight travel required.
- Strong PC skills (Microsoft Office Suite).
- General knowledge of the mechanics of Google Earth and/or outside plant tools.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Carrier telecommunications experience is a plus.
- Internet Service Provider experience is a plus.
