This role operates within an enterprise healthcare application environment and is responsible for the design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of MUMPS-based applications and integrations. The position requires experience supporting software development and troubleshooting within a mission-driven environment. Key Details Location: Remote Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a VA Public Trust suitability determination Responsibilities * Design, develop, test, and maintain MUMPS-based applications and software systems * Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex application and production issues * Develop enhancements and new functionality for healthcare and enterprise applications * Collaborate with business users, analysts, and front-end developers to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions * Develop and maintain integrations between MUMPS applications and modern web applications, APIs, and enterprise systems * Apply software design principles, architectural patterns, and best practices to build scalable and maintainable solutions * Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, code reviews, and sprint planning activities * Identify opportunities to improve application performance, reliability, and maintainability * Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical knowledge sharing across the team Required Qualifications * 5+ years of hands-on MUMPS software development experience * Strong understanding of software development principles, system design, and application architecture * Experience designing and implementing APIs and integrating MUMPS applications with external systems * Experience working within Agile/Scrum development teams * Familiarity with Jira or similar Agile project management tools * Ability to troubleshoot complex application issues and communicate effectively with both technical teams and end users * Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a VA Public Trust suitability determination Preferred Qualifications * Experience supporting VA VistA or other Veterans Affairs healthcare systems * Experience integrating MUMPS applications with modern web applications and user interfaces * Familiarity with healthcare information systems and clinical applications * Experience with software modernization or legacy application modernization initiatives * Knowledge of SAFe Agile methodologies or Agile certifications * Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field Compensation Salary Range: $120,000.00 - $135,000.00 Final compensation is based on technical skills, experience, education, certifications, and clearance.
