Work Environment

As a Nurse Practitioner in our outpatient office, you will work in a collaborative atmosphere with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals dedicated to improving community health outcomes. The office operates primarily during standard business hours, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with occasional evening clinics until 8:00 p.m. You may also participate in community outreach events and health fairs on weekends, emphasizing our commitment to accessible care. Your average workweek will total approximately 40 hours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive health assessments and screenings tailored to individual and family needs.
  • Diagnose and create treatment plans for acute and chronic medical conditions, incorporating preventive care strategies.
  • Engage in collaborative efforts with local organizations to develop and implement impactful health education programs aimed at improving health literacy.
  • Advocate for patients, providing culturally sensitive care that emphasizes the importance of patients' rights and access to healthcare services.
  • Coordinate referrals and ensure follow-up care to promote continuity in patient management and outcomes.
  • Maintain meticulous medical records in accordance with healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Participate in community-focused outreach events and health fairs, offering vital health screenings and resources to the community.
  • Keep informed of the latest community health trends, evidence-based practices, and relevant policies to enhance care delivery.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will primarily center on underserved populations within Jersey City, addressing social determinants of health that affect their access to quality healthcare. This includes working with diverse demographics and advocating for vulnerable communities to ensure equitable access to necessary healthcare interventions.

Qualifications
  • A current and valid Nurse Practitioner certification.
  • Active nursing license in the state of New Jersey.
  • A Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience, preferably in community health or public health settings.
  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse populations.
  • A strong commitment to social justice and health equity.
Preferred Experience

Experience in community outreach, health education program development, and an understanding of the challenges faced by underserved populations are highly desired. Biotech Advance Medical Center offers a competitive salary range of $180,000 to $200,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
