Senior Compliance Officer, Global R&D and Tech Ops

Reporting to the Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer, the Senior Compliance Officer is a senior member of the Ethics, Compliance, and Privacy department who will play a critical role in advancing the company’s strategy and commitment to compliance and ethics by reliably and proactively identifying, mitigating, and managing compliance and privacy related risks within R&D and Tech Ops.

Job Responsibilities
  • Serves as strategic business partner and risk advisor to R&D and Tech Ops across all therapeutic areas, providing regular updates on compliance risk, mitigation strategies, and dashboards.
  • Provides compliance advice to R&D and Tech Ops, identifying, mitigating, and managing fraud, abuse, kickback risks associated with clinical trials and other development activities; supports ethical decision‑making in clinical trial protocol, strategy, design, and trade sanctions related risks.
  • Coordinates global compliance and ethics policies, training, and education materials with Senior Compliance Officer, Global Policies, Education, and Investigations.
  • Conducts compliance training and collaborates with Senior Compliance Officer, Monitoring, Auditing, and Third‑Party Risk Management to design and implement an effective monitoring and audit program focused on CRO and partner oversight.
  • Works with the Ethics, Compliance, and Privacy lead team to advance departmental goals, ensuring consistency across the company.
  • Stays informed on new laws, regulations, and industry trends affecting the company, updating compliance controls for R&D and Tech Ops.
  • Collaborates with the Legal department to support R&D and Tech Ops operations.
  • Assists colleagues with projects outside primary responsibilities as needed to achieve corporate objectives and contribute to a collegial atmosphere.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of relevant compliance experience, supporting pharmaceutical or bi‑tech companies with at least 2 years of experience supporting the R&D organization of a global pharmaceutical company.
  • Solid judgment, business acumen, and understanding of R&D and Tech Ops strategies; ability to assess compliance risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Strong understanding of laws and regulations governing the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, particularly in R&D and Tech Ops.
  • Experience working in a business environment across multiple functions and geographies, with high responsiveness and strong customer‑service orientation.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; proactive, efficient, and able to handle a heavy workload independently and in teamwork.
  • Ability to work accurately with urgency in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including diplomacy, flexibility, collaboration, and cross‑cultural adaptability.
  • Travel required.
