Press Assistant

Bema, Incorporated, a recognized leader in supplying the flexible packaging industry, is seeking an experienced Press Assistant to support our fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities

• Assist the Pressman in the daily operation of flexographic printing presses on the W&H Vistaflex and/or Miraflex
• Maintain necessary supplies and materials at the press.
• Perform press support duties, including:
  • Turbo wash procedures
  • Sleeve changes
  • Loading raw materials onto the press unwind
• Support quality, productivity, and waste-reduction initiatives on all print jobs.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the press and surrounding work area.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Pressman, Supervisor, or Management.
• Ensure compliance with AIB housekeeping and sanitation standards.
• Properly handle hazardous waste materials, including inks and solvents, and complete all required labeling and tracking documentation.
• Assist with operation and maintenance of the PRI Distillation Unit and proper disposal of waste materials.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Frequent bending, squatting, reaching, pulling, and lifting.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
