Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough, trauma-informed assessments to understand each client’s unique situation and needs.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that prioritize trauma recovery and emotional well-being.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to facilitate healing.
• Lead both individual and group therapy sessions, fostering a safe space for clients to share experiences and connect.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive, integrated care for patients.
• Provide crisis intervention services during trauma incidents, ensuring timely and effective support.
• Educate patients and their families on managing trauma and provide them with helpful resources.
• Maintain confidentiality and compliance with all regulations through accurate and detailed documentation.
• Participate in regular case consultations and team meetings to enhance treatment strategies and share insights.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a licensed mental health counselor with us, you will primarily engage with patients dealing with a broad spectrum of trauma-related disorders. Your role will be crucial in helping individuals who have experienced profound distress seek recovery and stability. Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution.
• Current licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in New York State.
• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting, focusing on trauma care.
• A strong foundation in trauma-informed practices and familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating empathy and compassion in interactions with clients.
• Proficiency in electronic health record systems and teletherapy software.

Preferred Experience

• Demonstrated experience in treating PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders.
