Job Description:
Perform general, as well as skilled duties to prepare the grade and to install storm drain, concrete, metal and other types of pipes to the proposed elevation, slope and percent of grade. Will perform other related duties such as pouring footers and installing precast and mason drainage structures.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Performs various skilled tasks which are associated with grading and pipe installation operations. This includes but not limited shoveling or leveling stone or dirt.
  • Mason and concrete work.
  • Will be working in trenches and excavations, so experience is essential.
  • Uses various tools such as shovel, broom, pick, hammer, saw, pneumatic hammer or drill, tamp, concrete saw.
  • May operate some types of equipment such as front loader or small compactors.

Minimum Qualifications & Training:
  • 2 years' experience in installing storm drainage and other pipe installation.
  • Masonry experience.
  • Encourage a valid NC Driver License.
  • Willingness to learn multiple tasks of the pipe operation.
  • Ability to abide by precise instructions and strict but necessary safety rules and policies of trenching and excavation.
  • Must be a reliable and trustworthy individual that will be a team player.
  • Maintain a good attendance and safety record.

Tasks Essential to Job Functions:
  • The job requires the following motions: standing, walking, stretching, bending, lifting, pulling, twisting, throwing, reaching, and squatting.
  • Requires regular lifting of 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Walking and standing may require a full day of 12 to 15 hours.
  • Will be exposed to sometimes extreme hot and cold temperatures.
  • Job requires riding to and from work on personal vehicle. If the driving of a company vehicle is required, then the guidelines of the company driver qualification standards must be met.
