SUMMARY: Under general supervision and according to Firm policies and procedures, the Commercial Restructuring & Bankruptcy Paralegal provides substantive legal support to attorneys handling commercial restructuring, bankruptcy, creditors' rights, foreclosure, collections, and related litigation matters. The paralegal is responsible for assisting with case management, legal document preparation, court filings, due diligence, research, and post-judgment recovery efforts while maintaining a high level of professionalism, accuracy, and client service. This position partners closely with attorneys and fellow paralegals across the firm's national platform to ensure efficient workflow management, resource allocation, and seamless client support.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare, revise, and file pleadings, motions, notices, proofs of claim, correspondence, and other legal documents in state and federal courts.
• Utilize state and federal electronic court filing systems, including PACER and CM/ECF, and maintain knowledge of applicable filing procedures and court requirements.
• Assist attorneys with commercial bankruptcy matters, including case administration, retrieval and organization of court filings, calendaring deadlines, and monitoring case developments.
• Support workout, settlement, forbearance, reaffirmation, and other restructuring-related agreements.
• Review bankruptcy petitions, schedules, Statements of Financial Affairs, Statements of Intention, Chapter 11 plans, disclosure statements, and related filings.
• Assist with creditors' rights matters, including drafting proofs of claim, plan objections, motions, settlement agreements, and supporting documentation.
• Conduct due diligence and factual investigations, including UCC searches, title research, deed research, corporate entity searches, asset investigations, SCRA searches, bankruptcy monitoring, and claims registry reviews.
• Support foreclosure, collections, and post-judgment recovery efforts, including garnishments, levies, attachments, judgment liens, judgment renewals, and related enforcement actions.
• Review loan documentation, security agreements, UCC filings, collateral documentation, and title-related records to assist attorneys with enforcement and recovery strategies.
• Prepare collateral summaries, conduct land record research and vesting confirmations, draft default letters, demand letters, satisfactions, releases, and other related documentation, and coordinate and process the recording of deeds, judgment liens, releases, foreclosure-related documents, and other instruments in applicable property records.
• Maintain electronic and physical case files, calendars, deadlines, and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate with clients, courts, trustees, title companies, opposing counsel, and other parties as necessary.
• Analyze, organize, and summarize legal, financial, and public record information for attorney review.
• Collaborate with attorneys and paralegals across offices to ensure effective workload management and consistent client service.
• Manage multiple assignments and competing deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Physical presence in the office is an essential duty of this position.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

• Strong knowledge of commercial bankruptcy, restructuring, creditors' rights, foreclosure, collections, and related legal processes.
• Experience with state and federal court filing systems and procedures.
• Working knowledge of bankruptcy case administration, claims management, and creditors' rights litigation.
• Experience conducting UCC, title, PACER, SCRA, corporate entity, and public records research.
• Ability to review and analyze financial, legal, collateral, and public record information.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments and deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment and maintaining confidentiality.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to interact professionally with attorneys, clients, court personnel, trustees, title companies, and administrative staff.
• Demonstrated commitment to teamwork, collaboration, and client service in a deadline-driven environment.
• Work occasionally requires a high level of mental effort and concentration while managing multiple priorities.
• Work occasionally requires irregular hours and/or more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential functions of the position.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

• Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal program required.
• A minimum of 2-3 years of experience supporting commercial restructuring, bankruptcy, creditors' rights, foreclosure, collections, or related litigation matters is required.
• Experience drafting and filing pleadings in both state and federal courts is strongly preferred. Experience with PACER, CM/ECF, title review, UCC searches, and post-judgment enforcement proceedings is preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, extreme temperatures and the like.
