Responsibilities

As Service Director, you will oversee all aspects of the Honda Service Department, including:

  • Lead, coach, and develop Service Advisors, Technicians, Dispatch, Warranty, and Support Staff
  • Drive customer satisfaction (CSI) and customer retention
  • Improve labor sales, parts sales, technician productivity, proficiency, and efficiency
  • Maintain exceptional workflow and shop capacity management
  • Ensure Honda warranty compliance and dealership policy adherence
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including:
    • Labor Gross Profit
    • Effective Labor Rate
    • Hours Per Repair Order
    • Technician Productivity & Efficiency
    • Customer Pay Sales
    • Warranty Performance
    • CSI
    • Fixed Absorption
  • Recruit, hire, and develop top talent
  • Build a culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
  • Partner closely with Parts, Sales, and Executive Leadership to achieve dealership goals
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient service operation

Qualifications

Preferred candidates will have:

  • 10+ years of automotive service management experience

  • Previous Honda dealership experience strongly preferred
  • Experience leading high-volume dealership service departments
  • Strong understanding of fixed operations financials, reporting, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Proven ability to improve profitability while maintaining exceptional customer satisfaction
  • Experience coaching, developing, and leading Service Advisors, Technicians, and department managers
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Honda warranty procedures and OEM standards
  • Ability to analyze operational data and implement process improvements that drive results
  • Proficiency with dealership management systems, including CDK Drive preferred
  • Experience utilizing MyKaarma for customer communication and service workflow management preferred
  • Experience with RapidRecon or similar vehicle reconditioning management software preferred
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
