BTM Company is seeking an experienced Senior Machinist to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for machining precision components, supporting production priorities, and assisting other machinists as needed in a fast-paced machine shop environment.

The ideal candidate has strong machining experience, can work independently with minimal supervision, and is comfortable working from blueprints and tight tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual and/or CNC machine shop equipment
• Machine precision components according to blueprints and specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and work instructions
• Verify dimensions and maintain high-quality standards
• Support production scheduling and priority “hot” jobs as needed
• Assist with troubleshooting machining and setup issues
• Support rework and corrective machining activities
• Maintain safe operation of machine shop equipment
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, programmers, inspectors, and other machinists
• Assist and mentor less experienced machinists when needed
• Follow all company safety and quality procedures

Qualifications

• Journeyman certification or equivalent machining experience preferred
• 7+ years of machining experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience operating lathes, mills, and related machine shop equipment
• Ability to machine parts to tight tolerances with a high level of accuracy
• Strong blueprint reading and shop math skills
• Knowledge of measuring instruments and inspection tools
• Understanding of machining feeds, speeds, tooling, and setups
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• Trade school or machining apprenticeship preferred
