Role Description The Cashier role at BTCM is a full-time, on-site position based in Houston, TX. The Cashier is responsible for processing customer purchases accurately, handling cash and card transactions, and operating the point-of-sale (POS) system. Daily tasks include greeting customers, answering questions about products and services, maintaining a clean and organized checkout area, and restocking items near the register as needed. The Cashier also assists with verifying prices, monitoring inventory levels for commonly purchased items, and following store policies for returns, exchanges, and age-restricted products. This role supports a safe and welcoming environment and collaborates with team members to ensure efficient store operations.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle cash, credit, and digital transactions accurately and responsibly; basic math skills for counting change and balancing a cash drawer.
• Strong customer service and communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally with diverse customers and resolve basic issues or complaints.
• Comfort using point-of-sale (POS) systems and related retail technology; willingness to learn new systems and follow established procedures.
• Attention to detail and reliability in following company policies, including compliance with safety standards and handling age-restricted products.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move light to moderate items, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Prior experience in retail, convenience store, or hospitality environments is beneficial but not required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; flexible availability for shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
