Role Description This part-time, on-site News Anchor role at BRZ News is based in Atlanta, GA. The News Anchor will present live newscasts, introduce segments, and deliver breaking news with clarity, accuracy, and composure. Responsibilities include reviewing scripts, collaborating with producers and reporters to refine stories, and conducting on-air interviews. The role involves preparing for broadcasts by researching current events, fact-checking information, and rehearsing key segments. The News Anchor will also engage with audiences across multiple platforms, follow editorial guidelines, and participate in newsroom meetings to support overall program quality.

Qualifications

• Strong reporting skills, including the ability to gather, verify, and present news in a clear and balanced manner.
• Broadcasting and presenter skills, with confidence in front of the camera and effective on-air delivery.
• News writing and broadcast journalism skills to craft concise, accurate, and engaging scripts.
• Excellent verbal communication, professional on-air presence, and the ability to work calmly under deadline pressure.
• Familiarity with newsroom workflows, teleprompter use, and studio production environments.
• Ability to collaborate with producers, reporters, and technical staff in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong ethical judgment and commitment to impartial, fact-based journalism.
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Prior on-air experience in television or digital news is highly beneficial.
