Job description

Bix Restaurant is looking for a talented Sous-Chef

About Bix Restaurant

Serving Modern San Francisco Cuisine, we are known for a deep devotion tolocal products and suppliers.Much of our food comes directly to therestaurant from local farms.Our chefs and their culinary team can befound every Saturday at the storied Farmer's Market at the San Francisco FerryBuilding, sourcing the finest ingredients.

Inspired by its location in San Francisco's Jackson Square and appreciativeof its culinary roots, our menu is a combination of the classic and the new.

Responsibilities

Help in the preparation and design of all food menus

Produce high-quality, consistent plates in both designand taste

Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way thatmeets our quality standards

Fill in for the Executive Chef in planning anddirecting food preparation when necessary

Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seizecontrol of any problematic situation

Manage and train kitchen staff, establish workingschedule and assess staff's performance

Order supplies to stock inventory appropriately

Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations andsafety standards

Maintain a positive and professional approach withcoworkers and customers

Assist in scheduling, ordering, and inventory

Requirements:

1-2 years of experience as a Sous Chef

Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients,equipment, and procedures

Excellent record of kitchen and staff management

Accuracy and speed in handling emergencies andproviding solutions

Familiar with industry's best practices

Working knowledge of various computer software programs(MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)

PAY SCALE: Salary Exempt from $69,000-$75,000depending on experience.
