About the Role

BC Miles Law Group is seeking an experienced Family Law Paralegal to join our team. This is a full-time, in-office position for a detail-oriented professional who can work independently, communicate confidently with clients, and manage the demands of a busy family law practice from start to finish.

Please note: Only candidates with prior family law paralegal experience will be considered. Previous employers and professional references will be contacted as part of the hiring process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate directly with clients regarding case status, procedures, and next steps
  • Draft, prepare, and file legal documents related to family law matters (e.g., petitions, motions, financial disclosures, settlement agreements)
  • Prepare cases for hearings, including organizing exhibits, evidence, and documentation
  • Manage case files and deadlines using Clio Manage
  • Support client intake and case management workflows through Clio Grow
  • Maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date client and case records
  • Draft correspondence and legal writing with a high degree of clarity and professionalism
  • Assist attorneys with case preparation and administrative support as needed
  • Represent the firm at occasional after-hours business/networking events
Qualifications
  • 2–3 years of experience working specifically as a family law paralegal (required)
  • Working knowledge of Clio Manage and Clio Grow
  • Experience with Lawmatics is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong working knowledge of family law procedures, terminology, and court processes
  • Excellent written communication and legal writing skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism when interacting with clients
Additional Requirements
  • This is an in-office position; remote work is not available
  • Availability to attend firm business/networking events after hours, approximately 1–2 times per month
  • References and prior employers will be contacted to verify family law paralegal experience
