B.E. REED, LLC is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, Water Resources Engineer to support the planning and design of water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects across Indiana. Join our dynamic construction team as a Construction Inspector, where your expertise will ensure that building projects meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. In this vital role, you will oversee construction activities on-site, perform detailed inspections, and verify adherence to plans, schematics, and technical specifications. Your proactive approach will help maintain project timelines and uphold regulatory standards, making a tangible impact on infrastructure development and community growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive quality control and quality inspection of construction work to ensure compliance with project specifications and safety regulations
  • Review blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to verify accuracy and proper implementation on-site
  • Perform regular construction site inspections to monitor progress, identify issues, and document findings through detailed reports
  • Analyze construction processes and data collection results to recommend improvements and ensure adherence to contracts
  • Inspect pipeline installations and other critical infrastructure components for structural integrity and compliance with technical standards
  • Collaborate with construction management teams to coordinate inspections, resolve discrepancies, and enforce quality standards
  • Maintain meticulous records of inspections, deviations, corrective actions, and project documentation for accountability
  • Work with contractor to identify and document service line material type, size and other necessary information specific to the property, construction records, document using ESRI pothole application and/or assist contractor in documentation.
  • Support Client to engage with customer and/or property owner to obtain right-of-entry, deliver program information, flushing instructions, sample bottles, pitcher, filters, etc.
  • Verify that property owner has signed right-of-entry
  • Onsite project representative to assist as a liaison between contractors as well as property owner and/or tenants
  • Provide daily reports of contractor activities, weather, property where work was performed and photos of conditions
  • Assist contractor and/or occupants with flushing, sampling of water and delivery to lab
  • Attend meetings
  • Assist Client with tracking restoration progress and punch list items and address customer concerns

Minimum Qualification

  • Proven experience in construction inspection or related roles within the construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of construction management principles, contracts, and safety protocols
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings related to pipelines and infrastructure projects
  • Excellent analysis skills to assess construction quality and identify potential issues early
  • Hands-on experience with construction site operations, including data collection and site supervision
  • Ability to evaluate construction work against technical specifications and regulatory requirements
  • Effective communication skills for reporting findings clearly to project teams and stakeholders
  • Reliable vehicle

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Indiana municipalities, utility districts, and public agencies.
