Position Overview

Azalea Counseling Services is seeking a dedicated and fully licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our compassionate team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional eager to make a significant impact in the lives of individuals facing mental health challenges, particularly within the unique setting of hospice care. You will be responsible for providing therapeutic support to clients in a remote capacity, ensuring their mental and emotional well-being during challenging times.

About the Organization

Azalea Counseling Services is committed to delivering high-quality mental health care to a diverse range of clients, including those navigating terminal illnesses. We prioritize accessibility and a client-centered approach that focuses on empathy and respect. Our team is comprised of seasoned therapists who work collaboratively to foster positive mental health outcomes and support each other professionally. We believe in the power of therapy to transform lives and are driven by our mission to make mental health resources available to everyone, regardless of their background.

Work Environment

This full-time position is designed for remote work, allowing flexibility and work-life balance. While primarily conducted in a virtual environment, our therapists will interact with clients from the comfort of their homes and participate in team meetings via teleconferencing. The collaborative atmosphere encourages open communication among team members, promoting a sense of belonging despite the remote setting. Occasional evening shifts may be necessary to accommodate client needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients’ mental health needs through interviews, standardized assessments, and behavioral observations.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans that address various mental health disorders, utilizing evidence-based practices tailored to each client's unique circumstances.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions for individuals, groups, and families, using modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based techniques.
  • Collaborate with hospice care teams, including case managers and medical professionals, to ensure comprehensive and integrated care for the clients.
  • Respond to clients in crisis, offering immediate support and intervention strategies during acute mental health episodes.
  • Engage in community outreach programs that educate the public about mental health issues, providing resources and support to reduce stigma.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Mental Health Therapist at Azalea Counseling Services, you will primarily work with clients in hospice care. This population often deals with complex emotions related to terminal illness, grief, and loss. You will play a pivotal role in providing emotional support to clients and their families, ensuring they maintain a sense of dignity and peace during difficult times. This position allows you to enhance your skills in working with diverse cultural backgrounds, promoting a deeper understanding of the varied human experiences surrounding end-of-life care.

Qualifications
  • A valid and active license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
  • A completed master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology.
  • Proven ability to establish rapport and effective therapeutic relationships with clients from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, essential for clear documentation and professional collaboration with colleagues.
  • Demonstrated cultural competence and an understanding of the unique challenges faced by individuals from various backgrounds.
Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, experience within hospice or palliative care settings is highly beneficial. Familiarity with trauma-informed care, grief counseling, and relaxation techniques will be advantageous. Experience in telehealth or remote therapeutic interventions is also preferred, as you will be working entirely in a virtual environment.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from USD 70,000 to 100,000 per year, commensurate with your experience and qualifications. Our benefits package includes comprehensive health insurance (medical, dental, and vision), professional liability insurance, generous paid time off and holidays, and professional development opportunities to further enhance your skills.

Career Growth Opportunities

At Azalea Counseling Services, we believe in nurturing our staff’s professional growth. We provide ongoing training, supervision, and mentoring to help you achieve your career goals. Opportunities for leadership roles and specialization in areas such as grief therapy or family counseling may also be available as you advance your career within the organization.

You will have the chance to engage in meaningful work that positively impacts the mental health and quality of life for clients and their families.
