Role Description The Field Service Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Huntsville, AL. This role is responsible for installing, configuring, and commissioning surgical infrastructure equipment and related systems at hospitals and surgery centers. Day-to-day activities include performing preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring equipment operates safely and in compliance with manufacturer and regulatory standards. The Field Service Engineer will collaborate closely with clinical and facilities staff, provide user support and training as needed, and maintain detailed service documentation and reports. The role also involves coordinating with internal teams and vendors to schedule service visits, manage parts and tools, and support continuous improvement of service processes.
Qualifications

• Technical skills in electromechanical systems, medical equipment installation, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of operating room infrastructure, sterile processing, and healthcare facility environments.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications.
• Strong organizational, time management, and documentation skills for managing service activities.
• Effective communication and customer service skills for working with clinical and facilities teams.
• Basic computer skills, including use of service software, email, and standard office applications.
• Experience working in field service, biomedical engineering, or a related technical support role is beneficial.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, biomedical technology, electronics, or a related field, or equivalent military/technical training.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the regional service area as required.
