Job description
AVER is a fast-growing SDVOSB that has achieved significant revenue growth over the past 5 plus years with much of our work focused on Data Analytics, Mission Support, IT Modernization and Biometrics. AVER is seekingLatentPrint Examiners focused on critical mission support biometric services within DHS. This group delivers and manages all deployed identityservices and ensures sustainment of automated capabilities.Join our collaborative team who values AVER's mission, focus, and culture and to deliver exceptional client service with great people and transformative technology solutions to enable Government mission success.
Responsibilities Include:
- Prepare, search, retrieve, analyze, compare, and evaluate friction ridge images
- Compare latent prints to known prints and make conclusions- must possess hands on practical experience with latent print examination, comparison and identification
- Examine digital images and determination whether a latent print has sufficient quality to make a comparison, and/or to submit to the available databases
- Utilize digital forensic principles and tools and possess working knowledge of tools and systems used for identity exploitation of biometric attributes
- Review and evaluate identity data contained in large Federal identity information repositories and in the management best practices, techniques, and methods in the biometric field
- Write technical reports on the scientific analysis of comparisons
- Develop and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues and
- Provide outstanding customer service and support to State, Federal and Local Law Enforcement agencies, agents throughout the Department of Homeland Security and its mission partners
- Provide courtroom testimony which includes the preparation of charts, photographs, and other materials as needed
- Train less skilled fingerprint examiners in fingerprint examination and analysis as needed.
- Act as the verifier, providing Quality Assurance (QA) checks made by less skilled fingerprint examiners as needed
- Perform other related duties as needed
- Must be available weekends and/or holidays, if required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software applications (Word, Excel, etc.)
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher/equivalent work experience in related field
Experience Requirements:
- 3-7+ years of experience as a Latent Print Examiner
- Experience with preparing, searching, retrieving, analyzing, comparing, and evaluating both ten print and latent fingerprints using both automated tools as well as manual methodologies to make a determination of fingerprint matches
- Ability to work evening, weekend and/or holiday shifts, when required
Location:
- Springfield, VA- HYBRID, On site as required
Security Requirements:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance (Public Trust)
- This role supports a government agency which requires U.S. citizenship
