Role Description The Salon Front Desk Receptionist and Guest Services role is a full-time, on-site position based at Aveda Georgetown in Washington, DC. This team member greets guests upon arrival, manages check-in and check-out processes, and ensures a smooth, welcoming experience in the salon and spa. Daily responsibilities include answering and directing phone calls, scheduling and confirming appointments, handling payments, maintaining accurate guest records, and providing information about services and products. The role also involves coordinating with stylists and service providers, keeping the front desk and waiting areas organized, and addressing guest questions or concerns in a professional and courteous manner. The Receptionist and Guest Services team member supports overall salon operations by performing light clerical tasks and contributing to a positive, guest-centered environment.


Qualifications

  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and courteously with a diverse guest base.
  • Proficiency in receptionist duties, including greeting guests, managing appointments, and coordinating front desk activities.
  • Effective phone etiquette, with experience handling multi-line phones, directing calls, and providing clear, helpful information.
  • Clerical skills such as data entry, record keeping, processing payments, and managing scheduling or booking systems.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site, including weekends as needed, and remain organized in a busy, service-oriented environment.
  • Previous experience in a salon, spa, hospitality, or retail setting is preferred but not required.
  • Comfort with basic computer systems and point-of-sale software; willingness to learn salon-specific tools.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain a professional appearance in alignment with salon standards.
