JOB DESCRIPTION:

Austin Energy is the third largest municipally owned utility in the nation, serving more than 560,000 customers. Austin Energy has an annual budget of over $2 billion dollars. The Utility has a diverse generation portfolio of more than 3,000 megawatts of traditional generation and renewable energy. Austin Energy has led the nation in sales of renewable energy by a utility-sponsored program for the last seven years in a row. Austin Energy also offers some of the most comprehensive rebates in the country for residential and commercial customers to make energy-efficiency improvements to their homes and buildings.

WORK DESCRIPTION:


This position resides with the Electric Vehicle & Emerging Technologies team at Austin Energy. Austin Energy’s award-winning program is a leader in transportation electrification and deploys a comprehensive 5 pillar EV strategy of infrastructure, outreach, equity, fleets, and grid integration.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting operations of a robust EV charging network on the electric vehicles & emerging technologies team at Austin Energy. The EV Operations Specialist will work closely with cross-functional teams both internally and externally to ensure operation excellence of public and fleet charging infrastructure, high-impact EV programs, institute program enhancements, and provide research and analysis for emerging technology projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting operations of over 1,200 EV charging ports in Austin Energy’s Plug-In EVerywhere Network
  • Incentive processing and compliance verification for Austin Energy Electric Vehicle rebate programs
  • Generate recurring and ad hoc reports for management, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to support operational programs
  • Support data validation, quality assurance, and reporting accuracy across multiple EV programs and operational platforms
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to make EV operations more scalable and improve customer experience for EV charging
  • Participate in outreach and education events to promote programs and EV adoption
  • Provide regular operational updates to management and stakeholders
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement while providing exceptional customer service
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and analyze large datasets utilizing Excel and other reporting tools

WORK HOURS AND LOCATION  

8:00AM-5:00PM (flexible) Monday through Friday

The position can work remotely, with occasional in-person meetings with stakeholders, site visits, and team meetups at Austin Energy Headquarters, located at: 4815 Mueller Blvd, Austin, TX 78723.

 

OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

Applicants should live in Austin or surrounding area.

Austin Energy will provide assigned contractor with a standard laptop only. Contractor is responsible for their own peripherals (Monitors, Keyboard, Mouse, etc.)
