At Atlas Van Lines, we're more than a moving company. We're a family of companies delivering transportation and logistics solutions across the globe. Through a trusted network of quality agents and service partners, we help people and businesses go new places - more easily, more securely, and with confidence.

What sets Atlas apart is our agent-owned model and shared commitment to service excellence. That focus has fueled extraordinary growth and we're just getting started.

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced, hands-on Data Management Supervisor to join our Data & Analytics team. This role is a technical leadership position responsible for guiding and contributing to the work of our database administrators and data engineers while ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of Atlas's data platforms.

As a player-coach, you'll balance direct technical contributions with team leadership-partnering closely with IT leadership and business stakeholders to ensure our data environment supports reporting, analytics, and operational needs. You'll take a proactive approach to data management while also responding effectively to immediate operational challenges.

What You'll Do

  • Act as a player-coach by contributing directly to technical work while leading and mentoring the data team.
  • Provide technical leadership for database administration, data engineering, and data platform operations.
  • Direct the administration and maintenance of databases, ensuring optimal performance, availability, security, and reliability.
  • Partner with the DBA team to implement industry best practices and ensure adherence to established standards.
  • Design, build, and maintain ETL pipelines, data models, and integrations to support efficient data movement across systems.
  • Manage and optimize data warehouse operations to ensure accurate, reliable, and timely data for reporting and analytics.
  • Oversee data lake operations, ensuring compliance with data governance, security, and accessibility standards.
  • Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to understand data needs and align data solutions to organizational goals.
  • Assess data integrity, high availability, security, and privacy to ensure strong data management practices.
  • Review database designs, structures, and implementation plans, and support enhancements to active applications, scripts, and procedures.
  • Oversee project communication, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring work is completed on time and within scope.

Your Wellness Is Our Focus

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and dependents
  • Employee Assistance Programs with a strong focus on mental health
  • 24/7 access to a licensed therapist
  • Wellness programs with employee perks
  • Onsite Fitness Center and Medical Clinic

Financial Wellbeing

  • Generous 401(k) matching retirement plan
  • Pre-tax savings options including HSA and FSA
  • Tuition assistance
  • Financial wellness resources through our Employee Assistance Program
  • Earning potential up to $115,000

Flexibility & Time Off

  • Paid time off including vacation, sick leave, parental leave, holidays, and disability leave
Qualifications

What You'll Need

  • Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field required; Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in database administration, data engineering, or related roles, including hands-on experience with data pipelines, data warehouses, and database platforms, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to lead technical initiatives and manage cross-functional work.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate business needs into effective data solutions.

Technical Skills

  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL Database.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Data Warehouse, Azure Data Lake, Azure Blob Storage, and Azure Data Factory.
  • Knowledge of database backup and recovery, security and encryption, data archival, and data masking techniques.
  • Familiarity with data warehouse architecture, design principles, and data modeling.
  • Ability to lead by example through direct technical contribution.

Our Promise to You

At Atlas, we want you to grow your career - not just fill a role. We invest in our people through:
