Travel: Minimal while assigned to the Chicago project; occasional site visits may be required after the Chicago project is complete

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented QA/QC Technician to support the construction and delivery of state-of-the-art data center projects.
Prior data center construction experience is required for this role. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience performing field inspections, identifying quality issues, documenting discrepancies, and ensuring that data center systems, equipment, and installations meet project specifications, client requirements, industry standards, and safety expectations.
This is a field-focused role requiring strong attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to work closely with site leadership, QA/QC leads, construction teams, and trade partners to ensure work is completed accurately, safely, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Field Inspections & Equipment Audits
- Conduct detailed inspections of on-site equipment, systems, installations, and construction activities to verify compliance with QA/QC requirements, specifications, drawings, and safety standards.
- Identify quality concerns early and report findings accurately to site management and the QA/QC Lead.
- Ensure inspections are thorough, consistent, and properly documented.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Monitor construction, installation, and maintenance activities to ensure adherence to quality control processes, industry standards, client requirements, and project specifications.
- Verify work against technical drawings, blueprints, equipment specifications, and applicable standards, including NEC and other relevant codes.
- Identify even minor discrepancies that may impact overall system quality, performance, or turnover readiness.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare clear, detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate records of inspections, testing, deficiencies, corrective actions, and closeout status.
- Track quality issues through resolution and collaborate with management to ensure accountability.
- Support accurate documentation for turnover, commissioning readiness, and client reporting.
Collaboration with Site Teams
- Work closely with site management, QA/QC leadership, construction teams, and trade partners to support implementation of QA/QC processes and quality control changes.
- Communicate inspection results, risks, and open items clearly and professionally.
- Help ensure quality expectations are understood and maintained across field teams.
QA/QC Program Implementation
- Support updates and improvements to the quality control program as directed by the Site Lead and QA/QC Lead.
- Assist with process improvements, inspection methods, material handling requirements, and field quality procedures.
- Ensure any changes are implemented smoothly and continue to support project quality standards.
Troubleshooting & Corrective Action
- Identify potential risks, installation issues, and quality concerns through careful observation and analysis.
- Recommend and help implement corrective actions to resolve discrepancies.
- Follow issues through completion to help prevent repeat quality concerns.
Safety Compliance
- Ensure QA/QC activities are performed in accordance with site safety and environmental requirements.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions immediately.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety while performing field inspections in an active data center construction environment.
Communication & Coordination
- Maintain regular communication with the QA/QC Lead and site management regarding inspection updates, quality issues, schedule risks, and corrective actions.
- Ensure no issue goes unnoticed, undocumented, or unresolved.
- Support a proactive, detail-driven approach to field quality and project execution.
Required Qualifications
- Prior data center construction experience is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of QA/QC, inspection, construction, electrical, or related field experience.
- Experience performing field inspections in construction, engineering, electrical, or data center environments.
- Strong understanding of QA/QC processes, quality standards, and best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, equipment specifications, and project documentation.
- Strong knowledge of construction quality requirements, industry standards, and code compliance, including NEC where applicable.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify small discrepancies in equipment, systems, and installations.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to observe, analyze, document, and help resolve quality issues.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, active construction environment while maintaining focus on safety and quality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with data center infrastructure, including power, cooling, electrical systems, fire protection, or mission critical systems.
- Familiarity with quality management software, reporting tools, or inspection tracking systems.
- Prior experience supporting large-scale construction projects.
- Associate degree or technical certification in a related field.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree or technical certification preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform field inspections in active construction environments, including standing, walking, bending, climbing, and working in varying site conditions.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment or materials up to 50 pounds.
