Job description

Valve & Boiler Service Technician (HVAC/Pipefitting)

Worksite: Swedesboro, NJ

Are you the problem-solver everyone calls?

Do you enjoy getting your hands on complex valve systems, chasing down electrical issues with a multimeter, and dialing in precise fits and finishes? If you hold a journeyman’s license and take pride in safe, high-quality work, Atlantic Valve Services (AVS) wants to meet you.

Imagine this

A control valve stalls mid-stroke, throwing a process out of spec. You isolate the issue, lift the actuator with an overhead crane, verify alignment, track a sensor fault electrically, and return the system to peak performance—documented, safe, and ahead of schedule. That’s the kind of challenge you’ll tackle here.

Role snapshot
  • Diagnose, service, and repair a wide range of valve systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and in-depth inspections to prevent downtime.
  • Use your journeyman’s license for electrical installations and corrective work.
  • Apply diagnostic tools—especially multimeters—to resolve electrical issues.
  • Carry out pipefitting tasks that keep valve operations running smoothly.
  • Provide end-to-end support: installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Uphold safety standards while maintaining and repairing valves and systems.
  • Rely on power tools and measurement gauges for accurate, consistent results.
  • Operate overhead cranes safely for rigging and handling tasks.
  • Collaborate with the team to drive continuous improvement.
Must-haves
  • Demonstrated mechanical troubleshooting across mechanical and electrical domains.
  • Track record in preventive maintenance and inspections.

  • Pipefitting or HVAC service, installation, and maintenance proficiency.
  • Boiler certification with hands-on boiler troubleshooting.
  • Experience as a Diesel, Truck, or Auto Mechanic.
  • Experience with industrial electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with multimeters, power tools, and precision gauges.
  • Ability to operate overhead cranes safely.
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
What’s in it for you
  • Competitive compensation package based on experience.
  • Health, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Overtime opportunities.
  • Professional development and advancement opportunities.
