SEASONAL CLASS A CDL HARVEST DRIVER — $1.00/MILE LOADED & EMPTY
Atlantic Pacific Inc. is hiring 10 or more experienced Class A CDL drivers for our 2026 corn-harvest transportation assignment supporting a major agricultural customer.
This is a full-time seasonal company-driver position expected to last approximately 6–8 weeks. Driver start dates will be staggered from August 15 through early September, with the assignment expected to end in mid- to late October. Harvest timing depends on crop readiness, field conditions and weather, so exact dates may change.
WHY EXPERIENCED DRIVERS WILL LIKE THIS ASSIGNMENT
• $1.00 per approved route mile, loaded and empty
• Approximately 400 paid miles and approximately $400 gross per completed roundtrip
• $0.50 per approved mile for initial trailer pickup and final trailer return movements
• $200 qualifying layover when dispatched but unable to complete the run for reasons outside the driver’s and carrier’s control
• Weekly statements issued Wednesday; payment initiated Thursday
• 2023 or newer automatic sleeper tractors
• Up to $500 in approved transportation-cost reimbursement for eligible out-of-area hires
• Potential post-harvest opportunities for top performers; continued work is not guaranteed
THE ASSIGNMENT
Dedicated roundtrip: Plymouth, IN to Worthington, IN and return. Drivers are expected to complete one assigned roundtrip per scheduled workday, subject to lawful Hours of Service, safe operating conditions, weather, equipment condition and customer delays. Drivers must be prepared to remain assigned for the full harvest period and stay flexible as operating days and times may change.
Tractors are picked up and returned in Burr Ridge, IL. Trailers are picked up at the beginning and returned at the end of the assignment in Mediapolis, IA. Exact locations and movement instructions are provided after screening. Approved miles associated with the initial trailer pickup and final trailer return are paid at $0.50 per mile under the written offer.
EQUIPMENT
Atlantic Pacific provides 2023 or newer automatic tractors with sleeper cabs. Assigned brands may include Kenworth, Freightliner, Mack or Volvo.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Valid Class A CDL and current DOT medical certification
• At least five years of verifiable Class A tractor-trailer experience
• Must meet Atlantic Pacific and its insurer’s written MVR and PSP standards
• Must authorize required driver-qualification, employment-history and FMCSA Clearinghouse checks
• Employment contingent on a company-arranged DOT pre-employment drug test with a verified negative result
• Must complete required safety training and orientation in Des Plaines, IL
• Able to comply with all FMCSA, ELD, customer-site and PPE requirements
• Professional, respectful communication with Atlantic Pacific staff, customer personnel and loading/unloading teams
• Able to commit to the entire assigned 6–8 week harvest period
Previous corn-harvest, agricultural-hauling or bulk/live-floor trailer experience is preferred.
PPE AND SITE SAFETY
Required PPE at customer locations includes a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, long-sleeve shirt and long pants, plus any additional site-required PPE. Site safety rules are mandatory.
ONBOARDING AND TRAVEL
Selected drivers complete company safety orientation in Des Plaines, IL. Atlantic Pacific arranges the DOT drug test through an approved collection site; out-of-state appointments may be available. Eligible out-of-area hires may receive up to $500 reimbursement of approved transportation expenses to and from the Burr Ridge equipment location under the written reimbursement policy.
PAY AND POSITION STATUS
This is a seasonal W-2 company-driver position. Statements are sent Wednesday and payment is initiated Thursday; bank posting time may vary. Actual gross earnings depend on approved paid miles, completed dispatches, weather, customer operations and lawful Hours of Service. Mileage and earnings shown are estimates, not guarantees.
COMMITMENT AND CONDUCT
We are looking for dependable drivers who can complete the full assignment. If an early departure becomes unavoidable, Atlantic Pacific requests 14 days’ notice whenever practicable. The role is seasonal and at-will. Serious safety violations, negligence, policy violations or unprofessional conduct may result in immediate removal from the assignment.
