Work Environment

The Physician Assistant position is an onsite role within the Surgical Center at Aspire General Hospital, where collaboration with other healthcare professionals is encouraged. Working Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, you will partake in a dynamic environment dedicated to both outpatient and inpatient care. Your role will be pivotal in executing surgical care protocols and contributing to ongoing patient management before, during, and after surgeries. Our facility is equipped with the latest technologies and resources to ensure that you can perform your duties effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and obtain thorough medical histories to assess patient conditions.
  • Order and evaluate laboratory tests and other diagnostic services to develop treatment plans.
  • Prescribe medical therapies and provide alternative treatment recommendations while adhering to clinical protocols.
  • Create and update patient treatment plans based on assessments, ensuring alignment with evidence-based practices and professional guidelines.
  • Educate and counsel patients and families on treatment options, medication management, and health promotion, including lifestyle modifications to address health risks.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records that reflect patient evaluations and treatment outcomes.
  • Refer patients to specialists and inform them of ongoing health management processes beyond your scope of practice when necessary.
  • Perform selected invasive and non-invasive procedures as trained, all under the supervision of a qualified physician.
  • Respond to patient care needs outside of regular hours when departmental coverage is required.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will serve a diverse patient demographic at our Surgical Center, including individuals with varying medical conditions requiring surgical intervention. By ensuring thorough pre-operative assessments and post-operative follow-ups, you will be instrumental in achieving effective patient recovery outcomes. Your work will involve close collaboration with surgeons, nurses, and other allied health professionals to ensure holistic patient care.

Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant studies or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant clinical experience as a Physician Assistant.
  • Current licensure and certification as a Physician Assistant in the state of Massachusetts.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of symptomatology, treatment protocols, and rehabilitation methodologies pertaining to physical and mental health.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and collaborate with team members.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficient in using electronic health records (EHR) and other medical software.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience within a surgical center or similar healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with cardiology or specific surgical specialties relevant to our practice.
  • Additional certifications, such as ACLS or BLS, are highly desired.
Compensation and Benefits

Our competitive salary ranges from USD 140,000 to 180,000 a year, commensurate with experience.
