Job description

Ascent Contracting is looking for a highly motivated individual with 3+ years of commercial construction project management experience to join our team. This individual will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing construction projects from conception to completion. This includes managing budgets, procuring material and allocating resources, as well as ensuring that the project meets safety and quality standards.

The Construction Project Manager also serves as the main point of contact between the General Contractor and Ascent Contracting, and is responsible for communicating project progress and addressing any issues that arise. Other key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing project plans, schedules, and budgets
  • Managing subcontractors and coordinating work with in-house labor force
  • Overseeing the construction process and ensuring that work is completed on time and within budget
  • Prepare and complete construction submittals, shop drawings, etc.
  • Order, track and manage material deliveries for multiple, on-going projects
  • Identifying and resolving issues that arise during construction
  • Communicating with stakeholders, including clients and other members of the project team
  • Preparing progress reports and monthly pay applications
  • Managing project closeout and turnover to the owner

This role will work closely with ownership and will play an important role in helping to advance our estimating department as we continue to grow.

Our ideal candidate needs to meet the following requirements:

  • Previous estimating and/or project management experience
  • Experience with AIA pay applications and managing schedules of values
  • Good understanding of data analysis methods and KPIs
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365
  • Familiarity with computer programs such as Procore, Bluebeam and other common industry programs.
  • Excellent time-management skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Critical-thinker and problem-solver
  • BA/BS in engineering, construction management or similar, relevant field
