Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to Shiraz recipes, standards, and presentation guidelines
  • Read and follow tickets accurately during service
  • Set up, stock, and maintain your station before, during, and after service
  • Weigh, measure, cut, portion, and prepare ingredients according to recipe specifications
  • Prepare meats, vegetables, sauces, marinades, rice, sides, and other menu items as directed
  • Cook and plate dishes with attention to quality, timing, portioning, and presentation
  • Follow prep lists and complete assigned prep tasks
  • Maintain proper food rotation, labeling, dating, storage, and freshness standards
  • Keep your workstation clean, organized, stocked, and sanitary throughout the shift
  • Follow all food safety, handwashing, hygiene, allergy, and sanitation guidelines
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and properly
  • Communicate food, supply, or equipment shortages to the Chef, Manager, or shift lead
  • Assist with receiving and storing deliveries as needed
  • Restock or break down your station depending on the shift
  • Communicate clearly with the next shift or team members as needed
  • Help maintain a safe, clean, and efficient kitchen environment
  • Support other kitchen team members when needed

Qualifications:

  • Previous line cook or restaurant kitchen experience preferred
  • Persian, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, steakhouse, grill, or high-volume restaurant experience is a plus
  • Ability to work quickly and with a strong sense of urgency
  • Ability to follow recipes, directions, tickets, and kitchen standards
  • Strong attention to detail and consistency
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
  • Able to stay organized and focused under pressure
  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • Able to bend, lift, carry, push, and move items as needed
  • Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs when necessary
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • California Food Handler Card

What success looks like:

  • Your station is stocked, clean, organized, and ready before service
  • Food is prepared consistently and according to Shiraz standards
  • Orders are completed accurately, efficiently, and on time
  • Plates are presented with care and attention to detail
  • Food safety and sanitation standards are consistently followed
  • You communicate clearly with the kitchen team and management
  • You work with urgency, pride, and a team-first attitude
