Job description

Transform Lives Through Communication in a Thriving Texas City - Become Our Next Speech Language Pathologist
Overview
Imagine taking a leap towards a career that empowers others - literally! As a Speech Language Pathologist in the dynamic city of Houston, your role will extend far beyond merely addressing communication and swallowing challenges. You will be pivotal in unlocking potential, restoring confidence, and fostering meaningful connections - assisting everyone from toddlers uttering their first syllables to seniors regaining their independence.
In this unique position, you will have the chance to support a diverse range of individuals throughout their lifespan in a vibrant environment that seamlessly integrates outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient care. If your passions lie in pediatric language growth, adult neurogenic communication issues, or cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation for seniors, you will discover a fulfilling and flexible work setting tailored to your expertise.
Description
  • Conduct evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients, utilizing standardized assessments and observational methods.
  • Create individualized treatment plans that cater to both immediate and ongoing communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
  • Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions concentrating on communication, language, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing techniques.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to develop comprehensive care strategies.
  • Provide educational support for patients and their families to enhance progress beyond clinical visits.
  • Occasionally assist with inpatient assessments and interventions to ensure a seamless continuum of care.
  • Maintain diligent and timely patient documentation aligned with state, federal, and organizational criteria.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in the field through continuous education and collaboration with peers.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within the first 30 days of employment.
Skills
  • Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods for various ages, coupled with a solid understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills for engaging with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Capacity to adapt therapeutic strategies to meet a range of cultural and linguistic preferences.
  • Exceptional clinical judgment and problem-solving acumen.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records and documentation standards.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary reflective of experience.
  • Flexible scheduling to promote work-life balance and diverse caseloads.
  • Specialization opportunities in pediatrics, adult neuro rehab, or geriatrics.
  • Paid time off (PTO) and holiday remuneration.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance packages.
  • Support for continuing education and professional development expenses.
  • A collaborative environment emphasizing quality care and lifelong learning.

A Journey with Purpose - and Inspiration
By stepping into this role, you won't simply administer speech therapy; you will become an integral part of a mission fueled by compassion, aimed at restoring voices, enhancing communication, and cultivating moments of joy through the art of understanding.
In such a community-centric atmosphere, you'll work alongside colleagues who treat each other like family, fostering a culture of collaboration rather than competition. Each patient possesses a unique narrative; we will rely on your expertise to help shape how their stories unfold.
Why You Will Cherish Living and Working Here
Life in Houston weaves a rich tapestry of culture, opportunity, and warmth, interlacing moments of innovation with true southern hospitality. This bustling metropolis is a treasure trove for nature enthusiasts, with sprawling parks, scenic trails, and diverse culinary experiences - all waiting to be discovered.
Families revel in weekend outings, meandering through the vibrant arts district, enjoying local cuisine, or indulging in the variety of recreational activities available. From street food vendors offering tantalizing bites to upscale restaurants curating unique dining experiences, the city's palette is as eclectic as its residents.
The creative pulse of Houston resonates in every artsy mural, local venue echoing with live music, and festival celebrating the diversity that unites us. Additionally, the benefits are not limited to lifestyle - the absence of state income tax, an affordable cost of living, and a flourishing healthcare industry culminate in an area where careers can prosper and flourish.
If you're an aspiring professional or an experienced clinician seeking fresh beginnings, this environment offers the ultimate recipe for growth - both personally and in your career.
Who We Seek
We are on the lookout for a Speech Language Pathologist who not only focuses on results but also exudes empathy. Someone who envisions a child's silence as a future of outspoken brilliance, or who perceives the slow speech of a stroke survivor as a call for resilience and recovery.
Whether you are a pediatric expert aiming to branch into adult therapies or a neuro-focused clinician excited about integrating early intervention into your practice, we want to hear from you.
If you're ready to serve with compassion and lead with professionalism, we invite you to join our team.
Let Us Craft the Right Story - Together
If you believe communication transcends mere sounds, and that therapy is about more than just tasks - if you value building trust while pursuing goals, and laughter alongside language - this opportunity could be the next exciting chapter in your professional journey.
Join us in a community that cherishes connection, nurtures expression, and embodies the courage to open up new chapters. Apply now to lend your voice to our team - and help others find theirs.
