Role Description The Bartender role at Artis Event Center is a part-time, on-site position based in DeSoto, TX. The bartender will prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with venue standards and event requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include setting up and breaking down bar stations, maintaining a clean and organized bar area, checking IDs and following responsible alcohol service guidelines, and handling cash or POS transactions accurately. The bartender will interact with guests in a professional and welcoming manner, support event timelines, coordinate with event staff and management, and assist with inventory checks and restocking as needed.

Qualifications

  • Experience in bartending or beverage service, including mixing common cocktails and preparing specialty drinks.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with diverse guests and event partners.
  • Knowledge of responsible alcohol service practices, including age verification and adherence to local and state regulations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced event environment, stand for extended periods, and lift or carry bar supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Attention to cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards in all bar operations.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules.
  • Previous experience in events, hospitality, or catering is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., TABC or equivalent alcohol server certification) and a valid food handler permit are strongly preferred or required per local regulations.
