Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of patients' mental health status using established tools and frameworks, such as the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, to develop individualized care plans that respect cultural diversity and unique needs.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic techniques to support patients in managing their mental health diagnoses effectively. This includes adapting interventions based on continual assessment of progress.

• Maintain accurate and timely treatment records and reports in compliance with regulatory standards, utilizing current technology to enhance communication and efficiency.

• Collaborate closely with patients to formulate comprehensive treatment plans aimed at achieving desired clinical outcomes. Encourage active participation from patients and their families in the therapeutic process.

• Coordinate referral options and act as a vital link between patients and external treatment providers, ensuring effective care continuity. Build and maintain strong relationships with fellow clinicians and referral agencies.

• Offer education and mentorship to students, interns, and volunteers in the field, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration.

• Assist with peer-to-peer review and support team collaborations under clinical supervision, contributing to the development of fellow team members.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position focuses on providing care to individuals and families managing the emotional and psychological impacts of cancer diagnoses. Understanding the complexity of cancer-related mental health issues is crucial, as you will be navigating sensitive topics and offering support tailored to each patient's journey.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is required.

• Must possess a valid State License as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).

Preferred Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of post-graduate clinical experience, particularly in mental health settings related to outpatient therapy.

• Experience in working with cancer patients or in oncology settings is a plus.
