Aquilon

The Assistant Designer role at Aquilon is a full-time, hybrid position based in Long Beach, California. This role supports the design team in developing seasonal swimwear collections, including assisting with concept development, sketching, and preparing design boards. Daily responsibilities include:

Responsibilities

• Continuously research and add inspiration/sketch ideas/white space ideas to fit the brand’s aesthetic.
• Sketch design based off direction from Senior Designer/Designer.
• Prepare pass off’s for style development.
• Assist on layouts for trim and fabric development.
• Organize Concept boards based on Design Director’s direction.
• Assist in pass offs for development.
• Create color palette chips as needed.
• Manage color swatch orders and organization.
• Manage fabric swatches and pages.
• Manage and order ink and paper for printers.
• Provide administrative support from concept to design to final development.
• Help to organize development samples.
• Assist in presentation materials (finalizing CADs, printing materials, trim + fabric pages, color palettes, etc) before meetings.

Qualifications

• Illustrator and Photoshop proficient

• Degree in fashion design

• Communication with product development and overseas when needed

• Great Team player, willing to learn

Experience

• Adobe Illustrator: 2 years (required)

• Adobe Photoshop: 2 years (required)

• Fashion/Apparel Design: 1 years (preferred)

• Assistant Designer: 1years (preferred)

• Swimwear/Intimates Experience: 1 year (preferred)
