Blister/Bottle Packaging Line Mechanic – Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

Location: Philadelphia, PA

How you’ll make an impact
  • Champion reliable operations by maintaining and documenting monthly preventive maintenance on packaging assets.
  • Serve as the department’s first-call troubleshooter and interface with OEM vendors to resolve complex issues.
  • Diagnose and correct failures across electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems.
  • Execute rapid, right-first-time setups and changeovers in line with the production schedule.
  • Keep packaging leadership informed on equipment status, risks, and performance trends.
  • Assist with install, commissioning, and debugging of new or modified equipment.
  • Model cGMP, safety, and SOP compliance; complete all Master Control trainings; maintain complete records.
  • Collaborate with management on priorities and lend guidance to other mechanics; support vendor management, timecard approvals, training, and team development as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What sets you up for success
  • High school diploma or technical certificate with 5+ years as a GMP Packaging Mechanic.
  • Demonstrated expertise on bottle or blister packaging equipment (at least one required).
  • Strong written and verbal communication: read/understand instructions and correspondence; draft reports/memos; present information confidently.
  • Applied math skills across whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to follow detailed written and oral directions.

  • Manual dexterity for tools and controls; frequent reaching; periods of sitting; occasional standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching/crawling; ability to talk and hear.
  • Vision capabilities include close, color, and peripheral vision; depth perception; and adjust-focus ability.
  • Capability to stand, walk, push, pull, twist, reach overhead, and bend to the floor.
  • Ability to wear a respirator when working with chemicals of specified potency.
  • Move up to 50 lbs independently; use mechanical assist for heavier items.
  • Climb ladders/steps occasionally to access equipment.
  • Read precision measurement tools, machine dials, gauges, and thermometers; observe fine details via microscope.
