The Senior CNC Machinist plays a key role in supporting precision manufacturing operations in Spartanburg by ensuring consistent quality, reliable output, and stable machining processes. This role sets up and operates CNC machining equipment, troubleshoots machining and process issues, and works closely with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to support production demands and continuous improvement efforts.

Key Responsibilities
CNC Machining & Production
- Set up, operate, and monitor CNC lathes and vertical machining centers to produce precision components.
- Produce parts in accordance with engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards.
- Perform in‐process and final inspections using appropriate measuring tools and gauges.
- Make offsets and minor program adjustments as needed to maintain quality and production efficiency.
Process Support & Troubleshooting
- Identify machining, tooling, or process issues impacting quality, throughput, or yield.
- Troubleshoot issues and escalate complex problems to engineering or maintenance as appropriate.
- Provide feedback on part manufacturability and process improvements.
- Support production ramp‐ups, engineering changes, and validation builds as required.
Equipment, Safety & Standards
- Maintain equipment, tooling, and work areas in a safe, clean, and organized condition (5S).
- Perform basic autonomous maintenance and support scheduled preventive maintenance activities.
- Follow all safety, quality, and standard work requirements.
Team Collaboration & Leadership
- Serve as a technical resource to other CNC Machinists as needed.
- Assist with training and mentoring less experienced Machinists.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and cost.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience, including setup and operation of CNC lathes and/or VMC equipment.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment to verify part quality.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot machining and process issues.
- 1st Shift 6.00am - 2.30pm
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree in Machining, Mechanical Technology, or related trade school or apprenticeship experience.
- Experience supporting production ramp‐ups or new product introductions.
- Familiarity with documenting standard work or participating in process improvement activities.
- Experience working in a cell‐based or lean manufacturing environment.
